He has over eighteen years of experience in professional environments working for companies like United Bank for Africa Plc, Investment One Pension Managers, Mute Swan Capital Limited, where he covered area like Research and Investment Management, Accounting, Finance, Risk, Business Strategies, with sound business acumen. 

Afolabi is a graduate of the University of Abuja, where he earned a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy, a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Masters of Science (MSc.). He is a also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria, the Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals of Nigeria and is a sponsored individual certified by the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) at various times and various responsibilities.
